When you walk into a Grinders & Shakers event, it feels like everything just works.
The music is right.
The energy is good.
People feel comfortable.
What most people don’t see is how much goes into making that happen.
“Having been on the scene myself as an artist, I understand the challenges artists face when trying to break into the music scene. That’s why I started Grinders & Shakers — to create a platform where upcoming acts can gain experience, build confidence, and truly feel what it’s like to be part of the music community.” – Kingkaz
It Starts Way Before the Doors Open
Long before anyone grabs a mic or steps on stage, there’s planning, phone calls, messages, and late nights.
Kaeem “Kingkaz” Kareem didn’t start Grinders & Shakers just to throw events. He started it to create a space where artists could feel seen, supported, and respected — especially in moments when the industry feels closed off.
That intention is what shapes everything else.

The People Making It Happen
Behind the scenes, it’s a small but committed team.
Hosts making sure artists feel comfortable before they go on.
DJs setting the mood and keeping the energy flowing.
Photographers catching moments artists didn’t even realize were happening.
Everyone is there for the same reason: the music and the people behind it.
The Part Nobody Posts About
What doesn’t make it to social media?
Loading equipment. Setting up sound. Moving chairs. Testing mics. Fixing things when they don’t work. Then doing it all again in reverse once the night is over.
It’s late nights, tired feet, and still showing up with a good attitude because the artists deserve it.
Creating the Right Vibe Takes Work
The vibe at Grinders & Shakers isn’t accidental.
Acts are chosen thoughtfully. The order matters. The energy in the room matters. Creating a space where artists feel safe enough to take risks doesn’t just happen — it’s protected.
When artists feel comfortable, they perform differently. That’s always been the goal.
Promotion Is Part of the Grind Too
Reaching out to artists. Posting consistently. Inviting people personally. Letting the community know they belong.
Promotion isn’t about hype — it’s about connection. Making sure the right people find their way into the room.
Why It’s Worth It
The real reward isn’t just a full crowd.
It’s seeing someone step on stage for the first time and leave feeling proud. It’s watching strangers turn into collaborators. It’s hearing someone say, “I’ve never felt this comfortable performing before.”
Those moments make the long nights worth it.
More Than an Event
Grinders & Shakers is built on effort you don’t always see and care you can feel.
It’s people choosing to show up for artists — again and again — because community matters.
When the lights come on and the music starts, that’s not just an event.
That’s a lot of love, time, and belief coming together in one room.
